Normally on my hosting you won't need to change file permissions, but if you do ...

 

File permissions can be set using:

• FTP client application
• The File Manager in cPanel
• Joomla EXtplorer file management component

! If the server uses phpsuexec or suPHP (we use suPHP) then files should not be set higher than 644 and folders 755.
